Nothing, which has taken the tech world by storm with its stylish smartphones and wireless headphones, has unveiled its new brand. CMF by Nothing will develop affordable smartphones, smartwatches and headphones. The company’s first products will be introduced at the end of this year.
CMF by Nothing will launch affordable devices
CMF, which stands for “Cost Centered Manufacturing”, aims to bring Nothing’s design aesthetic to cheaper devices. According to the statement made by Nothing and CMF founder Carl Pei, the first products will be a smartwatch and wireless headphone models.
Details about the first devices are not yet clear. However, they are expected to stand out with their designs and pricing. It is possible to sell significantly cheaper than the Nothing Ear 2 wireless headphones. This headset comes with a price of 150 dollars.
According to Nothing founder Carl Pei, CMF will help “make good design more accessible to users”. Stating that Nothing is dedicated to making technology fun again, Pei said that they have proven their ability to break boundaries in industrial design.
CMF, which was founded earlier this year with an investment of 96 million dollars, will be at the same level as Nothing on the management side. However, it was stated that it will work independently from Nothing and will have its own teams.
It should be noted that Nothing has recently been criticized on the price side. For example, the Phone 1 model has a price of 400 dollars, while the Phone 2 went on sale with a price tag of 599 dollars. CMF could help the company improve its reputation for affordable but stylish devices.
